We, at Duncairn Medical Centre are delighted to launch our new website.

We hope to inform you of the wide range of services we provide to address the needs of our patients from birth to care of the elderly. Treating acute and chronic illnesses, our practice provides preventive care and health education for all.

Due to an increase workload our phone lines have been very busy recently and we appreciate that it can be difficult to get through at times. For repeat prescriptions please use the repeat prescription form available on this website, please include your preferred pharmacy for emailing.

Covid-19

Duncairn Medical Centre

Clinics for cohort 4 and 7 are now full and we are no longer accepting requests. All those who have contacted the surgery will be phoned in the next few days with an appointment.

Please only use the email for prescription requests, and if you have a clinical request please contact the surgery for an appointment.

 

We wish to reassure our patients, during these unprecedented times of COVID-19, that we are doing all we can to keep you and your families safe.
We changed the way we run the surgery. These changes are as follows...

  • We are happy, where possible, to carry out consultations over the phone.
  • Private patients will be charged €30 for this service.
  • The front door will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
  • Only patients who have appointments will be allowed into the surgery.
  • We ask, where possible, to attend the surgery alone.
  • Please DO NOT attend the surgery if you have any new respiratory symptoms.
  • Please use the hand sanitiser provided when you arrive, even if you are wearing gloves.
  • Please wear a face mask if possible.
  • Please use contactless payment where possible or exact cash amount. We are also happy to take payment over the phone.
  • Our aim is to have you in and out of the surgery in as quick a time as possible. Please be mindful of this during the consultation time.
  • All staff will be wearing masks and gloves during the consultation and all equipment and surfaces used are cleaned between consultations, please allow time for this.
  • Where possible prescriptions will be emailed to your chosen pharmacy.
  • Most importantly PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE WORRYING SYMPTOMS. If you need to see a doctor please contact us ASAP.
  • If you have a temperature, cough and/or are short of breath, please contact the surgery and will arrange a consultation with a doctor and a referral for COVID-19 testing. This service is free for all. Please have your PPS number at hand.
  • If you are over 65 we strongly advise getting a once off pneumovax vaccine.Please contact the surgery for more information.

Services

Mother and Baby Care

The mother and infant care scheme provides care to all expectant mothers who are resident in Ireland. All our Doctors provide this service.

Women's Health

We provide a variety of services especially tailored for women’s needs, including cervical smears, maternity care, contraception and sexual health screening.

Vaccinations

We provide all standard primary vaccinations. Your baby will have 5 visits with the Nurse from 2 months old – 13 months old where he/ she will receive a comprehensive set of vaccines.

Minor Surgery

Dr Marshall provides a comprehensive range of surgical procedures including skin lesion biopsy and removal, skin tag removal, sebaceous cyst removal, cryotheraphy of warts and verrucas. He operates one morning a week. 

Travel Vaccinations

We provide a comprehensive service comprising of general travel health information, travel vaccinations, malaria prophylaxis/ advice.
Please attend for your travel consultation at least 6 weeks before your trip.

Long Acting Contraception

Dr Leah Roche has many years experience providing this service at the practice. Methods include intra uterine devices ( coil ), implants – inserted under the skin in the upper arm, and injections given every 3 months.

If you can’t make your appointment or don’t need it any more, please cancel and free the appointment for someone who may really need it.
